Abstract:The decline of the mullet resource has been a concern to the people since the early 1970s in Tonga (Wilkinson 1977, Ludwig 1979, Zann et al, 1984). The Ministry of Fisheries had conducted several research projects for the mullet resource, such as a biological survey and pond culture trial, as well as conservation programs, however, no effective results had been confirmed.
