The mangrove fish community is charactorised by abundance of small sized species and of juveniles of large-sized species, including a large number of commercially valuable species. The trophic web of this fish community is largely based on the food chain of the detritus feeders. There seems to be little overlap between mangrove fishes and lagoon fishes.
