Abstract: This book, the product of many years research by two scientists, describes the larval stages of 49 families of coral reef fishes which inhabit the vast Indo-Pacific region stretching from Hawaii and tropical northern Australia to the Red Sea and southeast Africa. The larvae of coral reef fishes are frequently difficult to identify, and morphologically are often extraordinarilydifficult to identify. This book makes the task of identification much easier, and will help to increase our knowledge of the early life-history of fishes. The larvae of Indo-Pacific Coral Reef Fishes provides an overview, and with the aid of an extensive array of excellent illustrations, enables the reader to identify the larvae which inhabit the Indo-Pacific to the level of family.
