Abstract: Sustainable Livelihoods is an ongoing issue not only for squatters, but also for government and non-government organization. Squatting is an ongoing problem for Fiji and the issue have been used by many to gain political mileage to their advantages. Living in a squatter settlement is a huge challenge, considering the facts that it is illegal and informal. With limited access to human; physical; natural; financial; and social assets the people in squatter settlements are confined to available sources of livelihoods to meet their needs and wants. Sustaining Livelihood would be a concern to them as they are unable to access to essential services and areas of needs where they can improve; maintain and sustain their livelihood. Sustainable livelihoods for those living in squatter settlements are a topic of debate.
